The heart of the blind Škodovák - blog

This man did it! And if he could do it, so can I!

Building the first tactile transport exhibition of its kind in the world is and will be a very long run for a long time, so today I want to talk about cars from a completely different barrel. And for me personally, it's very inspiring, so definitely read and spread the word.

Can you imagine looking for a car repair shop, making an appointment, only to find out upon arrival that the main mechanic is blind? You would probably be shocked. I'll admit it, me too. But it's not impossible and there is one place in the world where it's quite common and even considered completely normal.

One blind man with whom I have much in common. Like him, I was interested in how things work, and like him, I broke many things many times, and my parents will surely be happy to testify, just to be able to feel what it looks like inside and how it all actually works. My domain was flywheel cars and old mechanical alarm clocks, I still have a few of them here and I've had them taken apart twice because they got stuck. There's only one thing we don't have in common with that man (his name is Asif Patel). While I went to study in Prague at the conservatory, he went straight to work, and wonder of the world, as a mechanic. I still have a long way to go to work as a mechanic, but if he could do it, I don't see a single reason why I couldn't do it in a country full of all kinds of modern technology. So I decided to be inspired by this man from Pakistan and I will, yes I will, here I want none, or maybe, here I will just work them like him. However, for this purpose, I will have to buy one more car, because I need to keep my current car fleet always ready for seasonal events, as of the date of this article, I have already participated in one and this year I plan to participate in at least two more, but next year I am planning much more. That's why I'm looking for one more Škoda car. And the only car still missing from my collection is the so-called Užovka. So I am looking for any Škoda 105, 120, nicknamed Užovka, which I intend to use as a car on which I will learn everything, on which I will test everything and on which I will be able to repair everything so that I can subsequently repair my others if necessary car, while I intend to preserve its original condition and functionality, and when I know everything, only then do I intend to photograph meetings with it. Until then, it can be safely shut down, I will be able to return to it at any time and at the same time I will be able to devote myself to my seasonal activities. I have an offer for one Užovka, it is complete, drivable, with only a few scratches from use, it is sold by a person with whom I also work, he supplied me with shoes for a hundred and a hundred and twenty at a very good price, but he no longer has time for cars and poor Užovka only he's casually standing in the garage, drooling over her.

Originally, I thought that I would try to find some scrap metal on which I could learn all this and which I would then perhaps restore, but on the other hand, I think that if the car is complete and fully functional, I will be fine teaching much better, so now I'm debating whether to accept or not, although my subconscious has already made up its mind.

I have to say that this man motivated me a lot and now I can say that if he can do it, so can I. In addition, I have the huge advantage of having someone to learn from. My father is an agricultural machinery repairer, my cousin is the same, my second cousin is a mechanic, the third is studying mechanics, and I am convinced that family members in this field can give me the best school ever. So when I tell you now that after some time even if you wake me up in the middle of the night and put any part of the car in my hand, I will immediately tell you what part it is, what it is for and exactly where it is in the car, what other part binds him and so on. So far, I can do it XNUMX percent only with the interior and partly with some hoses and cables.
