First ride with a tour driver

As written in the section Get involved / support the project, the fleet needs to be maintained. And that means not only washing cars from time to time, or taking them to the service station here and there, but they also have to be driven around. I managed to establish cooperation with a nice lady who is no stranger to the word veteran, and although she herself drives the automatic most of the time, we agreed that from time to time, about once a month, we would drive the fleet and yesterday we had our first drive.

First a stop to the garage

Our first stop was a garage that I rent in one of the campuses in Těšín. It can fit a maximum of one car and a few necessary small items. I pay 2200 CZK per month for this garage, but there are no other garages for rent in the city, so I took a garage as a thank you, even though it is expensive in the opinion of the neighborhood. And it was in that garage that we stopped to unload some things. While driving, I carefully watched how the driver, Šárka, behaved towards the car, how she handled the clutch, the gear lever, how she felt about the engine speed, and so on.

To Třinec and back

Subsequently, we just went to Třinec and on the way back we stopped at Kaufland in Těšín. So if you saw a white XNUMX standing at Kauf yesterday around XNUMX:XNUMX, it was the one from the Touch the Traffic project. On the way to Třinec, I did not follow the actions of the driver anymore, it would have been completely unnecessary.

Exit and parking was up to me

So that someone wouldn't park my car in the place from which we were leaving, we agreed that we would park her car in the place of my car. And when it was offered to me that I could drive the distance alone with my one hundred and two, I did not refuse. The same when going back. Reversing was a little more difficult, but with careful assistance, I managed to park the Škoda exactly where we started with it. And the engine has not sputtered even once, which is a great thing.
